The holidays kick off with the annual Tree Lighting ceremony hosted by the City of Richmond and Historic Richmond Association, the Friday night before the first Saturday of December- this year, December 6th at 6 pm at City Hall Park Plaza! Experience the Spirit of the Holidays when the 'switch is flipped' to turn on the holiday tree lights followed by two showings of the old fashioned Grinch movie, allowing attendees to enjoy the Community Walk through the historic district for Free Family holiday spirited fun! The Fire Department's antique fire truck will also be decorated and next to the tree, providing the setting for old fashioned pictures.
Faith United Methodist Church Hand Bell choir will be on site providing holiday music and cookies and hot chocolate will complete the experience as all are welcome to enjoy the music and take pictures at the tree or Fire truck! We welcome you to join!
The City of Richmond's MOVIES ON MORTON Free Outdoor Film features THE GRINCH at 6:30 pm in front of City Hall on Morton Street, and showing again at 7:30 to allow attendees to enjoy the Community Walk in the historic district after the 6:00 pm Tree Lighting ceremony! Rotary club of Richmond will provide free popcorn and Access Health Community Health will provide water and lemonade. We encourage everyone to bring their own chairs, and Friends of North Richmond will supply chairs if you don't bring your own! Watch City of Richmond TX Facebook page for updates.
