Supplemental Insurance
Available through BCBS, employees can purchase Short Term Disability, Accident Plan, Critical Illness/Cancer Plan, Cancer Security, Critical Illness and Life Insurance. The premium are payroll deducted and some plans can be pre-taxed.

Deferred Compensation 457 Plan
Available through MissionSquare. Employees may enroll at any time during their employment. Payments are made through payroll deduction.

Employee Assistance Program-Alliance Work Partners (AWP)
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) can help you resolve problems that affect your personal life or job performance. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is offered to all employees and immediate family members through Alliance Work Partners. The EAP is paid for by the City of Richmond.

Workers’ Compensation
All employees are covered under the Texas Workers’ Compensation Program

Credit Union
Available through Brazos Valley Credit Union.

Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS)
Participation in the system is mandatory for all full-time employees. Each employee contributes at a rate of 7% of his/her gross wages. The City contributes to each employee’s account at a 2:1 ratio. The city adopted the 5 year vesting and 20 year retirement any age.

Vacation
1-6 Years of service 11 days or 3.38 hours per pay period / 4.73 hours per pay period for firefighters working a 56 hour work week.
For each year after, 1 additional day.

Sick
8 Hours per month or 3.69 hours per pay period / 5.16 hours per pay period for firefighters working a 56 hour work week.

Holidays
13 Paid Holiday per year + 2 floating holidays.

Longevity Pay
After one year of employment, employees will receive $5.00 per month, per year of service.

Direct Deposit
The City offers payroll direct deposit to all employees.
