The City of Richmond, in cooperation with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) Initiative, proposes implement a plan to reduce inflow and infiltration (I/I) into the City's sanitary sewer system. The plan includes the assessment of the condition and capacity of the existing system, replacement of deteriorated portions of the system, implementation of management practices to reduce the potential for SSO's and to mitigate the impact of SSO's that may occur, continued effort to identify and eliminate possible sources of I/I, potential funding sources to assist the City in addressing SSO's and implementation of a long term operations and maintenance plan to continue to address SSO's in the City's system.
