The Street and Drainage Department is responsible for maintaining the City's bridges, streets and alleys, drainage ditches and storm sewer inlets, tree trimming and mowing on public rights-of-way, maintaining street and traffic signage, and street striping.

Speed Hump Policy

The program's mission is to enhance neighborhood safety and livability by working closely with neighborhoods to develop and implement innovative and effective transportation solutions in our residential areas. The City of Richmond (City) provides a process for identifying and addressing problems related to speeding and cut through traffic on residential streets.

The process requires the petitioner collect signatures of residents and businesses within the petition area to further qualify the request.

Tree Trimming Policy

The purpose of this policy is to provide consistent guidelines for the responsibility of tree trimming and care of trees / vegetation in the City’s Right of Way. This policy applies to the corporate city limits of Richmond.
