How to Start or Cancel Utility Services
The City of Richmond provides utility services to the following areas:
- Inside the City Limits of Richmond
- MUD 207
Requirements for New Residential Service:
1. A completed Application
2. Acceptable Identification: Unexpired Driver's License, Identification Card, Passport Book, or matricula consular.
3. Proof of ownership or proof of leasing. Acceptable Forms: Disclosure page from closing documents, copy of property tax receipt, Central Appraisal printout with property owner's name or if renting, a copy of the rental agreement or lease.
4. Deposit. Deposit amount as set by City Ordinance for customer's inside the City Limits or as set by the Rate Order approved by the Municipal Utility District.
5. Email all required documents to customerservice@richmondtx.gov or apply in person at City Hall, 402 Morton St, Richmond, Texas 77469.
Please note, services will not be activated until all required documentation is received along with the application and the deposit/connection fee.
Requirements for Cancelling Service:
1. Complete the Disconnect Form and return to customerservice@richmondtx.gov
