Carl Drozd, a Richmond resident since 2004, is a retired career U.S. Army Officer with more than 20 years of active duty service, and is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He also served with SFOR in Bosnia.
Carl Drozd married Elizabeth Duff, a local attorney and business owner in Richmond. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University and a master’s degree in management from Troy State University. He’s now a co-owner of CED Investments, LLC, in Richmond and a community volunteer.
Mr. Drozd believes his years of leadership and management expertise will help with strategic needs assessments and identifying and allocating resources to best provide city services. Mr. Drozd said his vision for Richmond is for the city to have a prospering economy, responsive city services and pride in its unique heritage.
Mr. Drozd’s community involvement, both past and present, includes being a director of Volunteer Services Council for the Richmond State Supported Living Center, Executive Director (Secretary) of the Development Corporation of Richmond, Committeeman for Fort Bend County Fair, and Committeeman for Houston Live Stock Show & Rodeo. He also volunteers with charitable organizations such as: the Lamar Educational Awards Foundation, American Red Cross, Richmond Rotary Club, H.O.M.E. Project, and Friends of North Richmond, Attack Poverty.
