National Night Out began in 1984 from an established network of police agencies and neighborhood watch groups across the country and has become an annual community-building campaign that promotes police and community partnership. This night enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. National Night Out occurs on the first Tuesday in October, this year October 4th and currently has 10 different gatherings in 10 different neighborhoods.. The current events scheduled throughout the City of Richmond at various host locations are:
