The City of Richmond's Annual Share the Warmth Community Program Begins-

A Community-Wide Program Allowing Neighbors To Help Neighbors Stay Warm

Post Date:11/06/2019 2:00 PM

Recent cold temperatures remind us Winter is quickly approaching. Because some in our community don’t have the necessities to battle the winter temperatures, the City of Richmond is launching the Annual Share The Warmth program- donation period beginning November 6th through December 6th with distribution of items in December, before the hardest temperatures hit.

Share The Warmth- a community wide program for the City of Richmond - began in 2015 to give neighbors the opportunity to help neighbors in need, by donating blankets, warm socks and coats at various City locations. This year, the City is setting up drop locations at City Hall, 402 Morton St;  the City Hall Annex, 600 Morton St.;  the Central Fire Station, 200 Houston St., and Richmond Police Department at 600 Preston St.

As well, this year, citizens can donate at Calvary Episcopal Church of Richmond, 806 Thompsons Rd; and St. John’s United Methodist Church, 400 Jackson Street in Richmond.

The City is working with area churches and service organizations to determine who is most in need of these items. If you know an elderly or disabled individual in the Richmond community, please contact us:
