As we welcome August, the City of Richmond’s City Commission received the 2020- 21 Proposed Budget and Capital Improvement Program for consideration and approval. The proposed budget was prepared strategically with the uncertainty of the economy in mind due to COVID-19, maintaining existing service levels while providing flexibility to implement priorities of the City Commission. The proposed budget is $35,642,689 and will be reviewed in more detail at city budget workshops set for Monday, Aug 10th and 24th. The public is encouraged to attend the virtual meetings to learn more about the City’s proposed 2021 budget as well as the public hearing on the budget and the tax rate scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, 2020. You can find the meeting information on the city’s website calendar.
