I was at Long Acres Ranch yesterday morning for the Development Corporation’s Small Business Breakfast and got so energized by that room of over 75 small business owner/ operators. A variety of businesses from the Richmond area were presented tactics for social media marketing. It is so important we support our small businesses and continue to introduce tools to help their success. We recognize small business is the backbone of our community. I am looking forward to the Development Corporation’s second annual Economic Development Week, coming May 9- 13th, more to come on that!
I hope you get out to enjoy this beautiful weekend as we head into April. Spring has arrived and Richmond has a lot going on next weekend, April 1 and 2. I have seen some of the promotions for the first Friday activities starting with Richmond Farmer’s Market from 3- 7 pm, followed by Child Advocates of Fort Bend bringing their Light of Hope activities to Wessendorff park from 6- 8 pm, with ceremony at 7 pm, bringing attention to Child Abuse Awareness month. That is followed by the first Friday Movies At Wessendorff featuring Peter Rabbit 2- The Runaway at 7:45pm.
Then Saturday, April 2nd is the 6th Annual Art Walk & Motor Madness and if you have never been to this festival, you should give it a try. Downtown is full of activities including LCISD schools exhibit at Morton Lodge, the Motor Madness car show at 6th Street, with vendors, artists, youth art projects and live music entertaining all day. Don’t miss Bark In The Park kicking off with a parade at 10 am- you may want to enter your dog. A lot is going on in Richmond, so bring the kids, family and neighbors and join us for the Free family fun!
