Richmond Historical Commission Under City Ordinance - UDC Section 6.2.104
The Richmond Historical Commission hereinafter referred to as “RHC” is a five member board appointed by the City Commission based upon applications and qualifications pursuant to the UDC Section 6.2, Administrative Bodies. The Commission members preferably have a background in disciplines of architecture, history, urban planning, real estate, law, archeology, or other disciplines related to historic preservation. The RHC is an advisory board to the City Commission making recommendations of proposed changes to ordinances, building codes, general plans, or other adopted policies in the City regarding the Historic District “HD”. The RHC maintains records, reviews and recommends, and recognizes Historic Landmarks or properties within the HD. The RHC is a vital part of sustaining and protecting the HD and increasing the public awareness of the value of historic, cultural, and architectural preservation by developing and participating in public education programs.
